Project developer VORM is building 220 homes in the new 'Roots' project in Leidsche Rijn Centrum Oost. All of them will be connected to our Neighbourhood Battery (the Mega Cube).
The surplus of generated energy is stored here and can be returned to the complex at peak times, for example, when the lift is in use. This also reduces the need for a heavy connection to the energy network, so ultimately both service costs and energy costs for residents are reduced. This will certainly save us on energy costs. But I find sustainability much more important than the money we save. You regularly hear about global warming and climate change. That worries me. It's great that we can now do our bit.
